“Walking in the Shoes of a Child with Learning Disabilities”
The Winston School San Antonio will host it’s first Winston Learning Series Event of the year on September 29, 2018 entitled “Walking in the Shoes of a Child with Learning Disabilities”
This event is free and open to the public. It is a true simulation of the challenges that a child with Learning Disabilities faces daily. This 4-hour event is designed to help parents, teachers and other participants understand what a typical school day is like for children with a disability, and the heart-wrenching struggle they experience daily. At this event, participants will walk in the shoes of a child with dyslexia, ADHD, and other learning disabilities. This intense, hands-on workshop provides 6 different simulations of learning disabilities.
When the simulation is complete, a short debrief is held to give participants the opportunity to voice their thoughts about the experience. Most often, we hear that participants, and parents especially, walk away with a new sense of empathy and respect for these children. Space is limited–RSVPs are required to (210) 615-7485.
