New Head Of School For St. Thomas Episcopal School

Dr. Root will celebrate 30 years in the field of education in 2014, a career including teaching students from preschool through middle school as well as three years teaching at the college level. She earned her PhD in Interdisciplinary Learning and Teaching with an emphasis in curriculum from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Her Masters degree is from the University of California San Diego in Curriculum and Instruction, and her Bachelor’s degree is from the University of Pittsburgh. She and her husband, Dr. Walter Root, moved to San Antonio in 2009 and attend St. Thomas Episcopal Church. They have 2 children and 5 grandchildren.
